What’s the capital of Tahiti?

The capital is Papeete, which is also the main port city. It’s a lively spot with local markets, shops, and plenty of places to eat. The Papeete Market is a must-see if you want to try fresh tropical fruit, seafood, or pick up some souvenirs. It’s not as “resort-style” as other parts of the island, but it gives you a taste of everyday Tahitian life. Most flights and ferries come through Papeete, so you’ll probably spend at least some time there.
