Old Faithful was the first geyser in Yellowstone to get a name, back in 1870.
Each eruption can release up to 8,000 gallons of hot water.
The water temperature underground reaches about 200°C (around 400°F) before it erupts.
Old Faithful isn’t the biggest geyser in the park, but it’s the most reliable one.
The geyser has been erupting consistently for centuries, and it’s still going strong today.
The Old Faithful Inn, built in 1904, is the largest log structure in the world and sits right next to the geyser.
