Don’t miss inland sights like the Chamarel Seven Colored Earth and the hiking around Black River Gorges for waterfalls and views. Port Louis is worth a half-day for the Central Market and waterfront, and smaller towns have great local food joints and markets. Water activities (snorkel, scuba, glass-bottom boats) are huge — the reefs are lively and easy to access. Plan one or two boat trips to nearby islands or a catamaran cruise for snorkeling and sunset drinks.
