The original Tip-Top-Tap lounge, which was a super popular rooftop bar back in the day, closed years ago. Even though you can’t grab a drink up there anymore, the neon sign has stayed as part of the building’s character. Locals and tourists still use it as a point of reference when walking the Magnificent Mile. The history of that lounge is a huge part of the hotel’s legacy. It’s one of those classic Chicago memories that never really went away.
