Mali has a hot, dry climate for most of the year since a lot of it is desert or semi-desert. The north is very dry with Sahara sand dunes, while the south is greener with more rainfall. The rainy season runs from June to September, which is when crops grow along the Niger River. The rest of the year is mostly dry and hot, with cooler nights in the desert. If you’re visiting, the cooler months from November to February are usually the most comfortable.
