United Airlines Suspends Houston–Havana Flights Amid Ongoing Travel Restrictions

United Airlines has suspended its only U.S.–Cuba route, ending flights from Houston to Havana as of September 2 and leaving winter 2025–26 tickets unavailable. The airline cited shifting demand and policy pressures, reinforcing the State Department’s continued ban on general tourism to Cuba. The suspension arrives amid calls from lawmakers and officials to restrict travel to the island further. While Delta and American still maintain some Cuba service, Southwest is scaling back operations. The move underscores how geopolitical tensions and regulatory barriers are reshaping travel corridors this fall.
