U.S. Navy Sinks Venezuelan Drug Vessel in Southern Caribbean Strike

The U.S. Navy carried out a naval strike in the southern Caribbean on September 2, targeting an alleged Venezuelan drug-smuggling vessel linked to the Tren de Aragua gang. President Trump confirmed the operation, stating that the vessel was “loaded” with narcotics destined for the United States. Eleven suspected smugglers were killed in the action, marking the administration’s most aggressive maritime narcotics interdiction yet. The move signals continued escalation in the White House’s campaign against transnational drug networks. The operation also reflects broader geopolitical tensions as regional security remains a top priority.
