Since it’s a religious place, there’s a dress code for entering churches and museums. Cover your shoulders and knees—so no short shorts, tank tops, or crop tops. A light scarf or shawl can save the day if you forget. Comfortable shoes are a must because you’ll be doing a lot of walking and climbing stairs. Outside in the square, the rules aren’t strict, but respect goes a long way. Dressing modestly helps you avoid getting turned away at the door.
