What’s this “hygge” thing everyone talks about?

Hygge (pronounced “hoo-gah”) is basically Danish cozy loving on steroids—think candles, comfy blankets, and warm vibes with friends. It’s a whole national mood: cafes glow warmly, pastries are paired with soft lighting, and snow-dusted streets feel like a living postcard. It’s less about the stuff and more about atmosphere, comfort, and togetherness. If you nap in a snug café or have a chilled-everything evening, you're living hygge. Danes don't just do hygge—they are hygge.
