49ers Hit with Injury Blitz; Kendrick Bourne Returns

The San Francisco 49ers are dealing with serious injuries to key players just as the season kicks off. George Kittle is out for at least four weeks with a hamstring issue, and QB Brock Purdy is doubtful for the next game. To plug the gaps, the club brought back wide receiver Kendrick Bourne on a one-year deal worth about $5 million. He’ll help fill the void left by suspended or sidelined receivers. With depth being tested early, how well the backups perform could make or break the 49ers’ Super Bowl hopes. Health may very well be a theme for them this season.
