The main language is Arabic, specifically Tunisian Arabic, which has its own local flavor. French is also widely spoken since Tunisia used to be a French colony, so you’ll see it in schools, business, and street signs. A lot of younger people also know some English, especially in tourist areas. This mix makes traveling a bit easier if you speak French or English. Locals are usually pretty patient with visitors trying to communicate.
