How cold does the Bering Strait get?

It’s brutally cold almost all year round. In winter, sea ice covers much of the area, and temperatures drop well below freezing. Even in summer, the water is icy, usually just a few degrees above freezing. Fog, storms, and rough waves are common too. Basically, it’s not a place for a beach vacation.
