The stadium opened back in 1927, so it’s been around for almost a century, but it’s seen a ton of upgrades since then. Originally it could hold about 72,000 people, which already sounded huge for the time. Over the years, expansions and renovations boosted capacity, added new press boxes, luxury suites, and better seating. The last major renovation around 2010 modernized everything without losing that classic bowl look. It’s one of those places where you can feel the history, but still see all the tech and design improvements that keep it current. Even with changes, the vibe hasn’t gone corporate — it’s still very much a college football stadium at heart. People who grew up coming here with their families say it still feels like home turf, just shinier.
