The Nobel Committee has announced the winner of the 2025 Nobel Prize in Literature. The award was given to Hungarian writer László Krasznahorkai "for his compelling and visionary oeuvre that, in the midst of apocalyptic terror, reaffirms the power of art."

Among the best-known works of László Krasznahorkai, born in 1954, is the novel Satan Tango, which has been translated into many languages.

In 2015, Krasznahorkai won the Man Booker International Prize, and translations of his books have also received numerous prestigious awards worldwide.

In 2024, the Nobel Prize was awarded to Han Kang of South Korea for "her rich, poetic prose that confronts historical trauma and reveals the fragility of human life."

During Nobel Week 2025, the winners of two more prizes will be announced. The Peace Prize laureate will be announced in Oslo on October 10. On October 13, the winner of the Alfred Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences, established by the Swedish National Bank in 1968, will be announced. The award ceremony will take place on December 10, the anniversary of Alfred Nobel's death.
