Wuhan gets the full four-season treatment — hot, humid summers and cold winters. Locals even call it one of China’s “three furnaces” because the summer heat can be brutal. Spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) are the sweet spots for visiting — warm but not melting, with clear skies and blooming parks. In spring, cherry blossoms around East Lake make it one of the prettiest spots in central China. Fall is perfect for long walks along the Yangtze River and late-night barbecue stalls. Winters can get damp and chilly, but it’s nothing a bowl of spicy noodle soup can’t fix. Bring layers, an umbrella, and an appetite — you’ll need all three.
