Yemen has a population of about 34 million people. Most Yemenis live in urban areas like Sana’a, Aden, and Taiz, as well as in fertile highlands. The population is very young, with one of the highest birth rates in the Middle East. Growth has slowed recently due to conflict and migration. Rural life and traditional communities remain important in everyday life. The population is largely ethnically Arab, with tribal and regional identities influencing society. Overall, Yemen has a young, growing, and resilient population.
