Kiribati is known for exporting fish, especially tuna, which is caught in its vast Pacific waters. The country also sells fishing licenses that bring in a major share of income, even though it’s not a physical export. Copra, or dried coconut meat, is another key product shipped abroad. Seaweed farming adds more agricultural exports to the mix. Handicrafts and small artisanal goods contribute on a minor scale. Kiribati also receives revenue from seafaring labor, with many citizens working on international ships. Overall, its exports rely mostly on the ocean and coconut-based products.
