Oprah does not have any biological children, and she has spoken openly about her choice. She has said that focusing on her work and personal growth felt right for her life. Oprah has also mentioned she wouldn’t have been able to give kids the time she believes they deserve. Instead, she mentors young women through her leadership academy in South Africa. She calls them “her girls” and stays very involved in their lives. Oprah supports education programs all around the world as well. She sees her legacy in the young people she helps guide.
