Oprah got her start in radio when she was still in high school, which shows how early her talent appeared. She later moved into local TV news as a reporter and anchor. Her natural style didn’t totally fit hard news, but she was great at connecting with people during interviews. That led her to host a morning talk show in Chicago, and audiences instantly loved her. The show became a ratings hit and eventually turned into The Oprah Winfrey Show. Her emotional honesty and empathy made the show unique at the time. From there, her career skyrocketed in every direction.
