Rihanna’s career took off when she auditioned for producer Evan Rogers while he was visiting Barbados. He was blown away by her voice and brought her to the United States to record demos. Those demos eventually reached Def Jam Records, where Jay-Z signed her on the spot. Her debut single “Pon de Replay” quickly became a hit. From there, she released more albums and showed she wasn’t a one-hit wonder. Her voice, style, and confidence helped her rise fast. She became a global name within just a few years.
