Apart from classes, WashU students have loads of ways to stay busy and engaged. There are more than 380 student groups and clubs, from student government to cultural clubs to performing arts and media outlets. The university hosts major annual events and traditions that bring people together, like music festivals and community competitions. Outdoor activities like intramural sports, hiking groups, and fitness classes are popular too. There’s also plenty to do in nearby Forest Park, one of the largest urban parks in the U.S., with trails, concerts, and recreation spots. For students interested in art and culture, the campus has museums and performance venues. And because WashU is near downtown St. Louis, internships, concerts, and city life are just a short ride away.
