Do I need a car to get around Jeju Island?

Having a car makes getting around Jeju much easier, since attractions are spread out across the island. Public buses do exist, but routes can be slow and schedules limited, especially in rural areas. Without a car, you’ll spend more time planning and waiting between stops. Renting a car lets you explore beaches, waterfalls, and viewpoints at your own pace. It’s especially helpful if you want to catch sunrise or sunset spots. Driving is generally safe, though roads can be narrow and speed limits are low. While not required, a car definitely makes the trip more comfortable.
