Geneva’s public transport is reliable and user-friendly, including buses, trams, trains, and even boats on the lake that all run on regular schedules. If you’re staying at a hotel, hostel, or campsite, many places give you a **free Geneva Transport Card**, which lets you use public transport for the length of your stay without paying extra. Trams are especially convenient for quickly reaching key spots across the city, while the boat taxis (mouettes) add a fun way to move around on the water. Tickets are usually cheap, and you can buy them from machines or apps for trams and buses. Taxis and ride apps are available too, though they cost more than public transport. Walking is actually one of the best ways to see Geneva’s city center because it’s compact and pedestrian-friendly. Bikes and e-scooters are also easy to rent if you want a little more freedom to explore at your own pace.
