Getting around Daegu is generally easy thanks to its clean, efficient public transport and options that work for both tourists and locals. The city has a subway system with multiple lines that connect major districts and attractions, and trains usually run frequently throughout the day. Daegu’s buses cover lots of destinations too, with routes that’ll take you to markets, parks and neighbourhoods across the city. Taxis are plentiful and relatively affordable, so they’re a good option if you’re carrying bags or heading somewhere off the main transit lines. Most subway stations and buses have signs or announcements in English, which helps out visitors. If you’re coming from elsewhere in Korea, high-speed trains (KTX) connect Daegu to Seoul and Busan in just a couple of hours. Knowing how to use transportation cards like T-money makes hopping on and off buses or subways even easier.
