Oakland Coliseum originally opened in 1966. It was designed as a multi-purpose stadium for both baseball and football. Over the years, it went through several renovations and name changes. Despite upgrades, it remained one of the older stadiums in Major League Baseball. Its concrete design gave it a classic, old-school feel. Many longtime fans appreciate its history and character.
