When was Kauffman Stadium built?

Kauffman Stadium opened on April 10, 1973. It was originally called Royals Stadium before being renamed in honor of team founder Ewing Kauffman. The park was built specifically for baseball, which was a big deal at the time. Unlike many older stadiums, it was never shared with a football team. Over the years, it has gone through major renovations, especially in 2009. Those updates added modern fan areas while keeping its original charm. Even though it’s one of the older parks in MLB, it still feels unique and well maintained.
