Allianz Arena is a famous football stadium located in the northern part of Munich, Germany, at Franz-Beckenbauer-Platz 5, named after the Bayern legend. It’s best known as the home ground of FC Bayern München, one of Europe’s most successful clubs, and it also hosts big international matches and events. The stadium opened in 2005 and quickly became one of the city’s biggest attractions thanks to its striking exterior. Its unique inflatable outer shell can light up in red, white or blue depending on the event or team playing that day. FC Bayern games, especially in the Bundesliga and the Champions League, draw fans from all over the world. Because Munich has great public transport, many fans take the U-Bahn on matchdays so they don’t have to deal with traffic. Even when there isn’t a match, Allianz Arena is still worth a visit for tours and the club museum nearby.
