Petco Park isn’t just about baseball games — it has some really cool features that make visiting way more than just watching the Padres. One of the most iconic parts of the ballpark is the Western Metal Supply Co. building, a historic brick warehouse that was incorporated right into the stadium and now serves as part of the left field foul pole. Just outside the gates, Gallagher Square offers a big open grassy area with picnic spaces, play fields, and sometimes pre-game entertainment and parties. Many fans also love checking out the Tony Gwynn statue, honoring one of the city’s baseball legends. The walkability around the park also means you can easily stroll through downtown before or after events and hit nearby bars, shops, and restaurants. Petco Park also hosts big concerts, WWE events, and other non-baseball shows that bring in huge crowds. All these extras help make Petco Park feel like a full-day destination, not just a ballgame.
