Soldier Field currently has a football seating capacity of about 61,500 to 62,500 people depending on the event setup. That number makes it the smallest stadium in the National Football League today. The stadium used to hold more fans before a major renovation in the early 2000s changed the layout. During that renovation, seating was reduced to improve sightlines and modern amenities. The stadium also includes luxury suites and club seating areas for premium experiences. Even with a smaller capacity, Bears games still attract large and energetic crowds. For major concerts and special events, the layout can sometimes be adjusted to accommodate different audience sizes.
