Kyle Field officially opened in 1927 as a permanent concrete football stadium. However, Texas A&M football had already been playing on the site since 1904. Over the decades the stadium expanded several times as the team and fan base grew. Major upgrades happened in the 1950s, 1960s, 1980s, and early 2000s. The biggest transformation came during the 2014–2015 redevelopment project. That renovation turned Kyle Field into a modern stadium with new seating sections, large video boards, and updated facilities. Even after all the changes, the stadium still keeps its historic connection to Aggies football traditions.
