When was Bryant–Denny Stadium built?

The stadium originally opened in 1929 with just a small seating capacity compared to today. Back then it held around 12,000 fans and was already an important part of campus life. As Alabama football became more popular, the stadium went through multiple expansions over the decades. Major upgrades occurred in the 1940s, 1960s, and 1980s, with the biggest modern expansion in the 2000s. These renovations added upper decks, new seating sections, and improved facilities for fans and players alike. The stadium’s design has changed a lot over the years, but it still sits on the same historic grounds. Even with all the updates, fans feel the sense of history every time they walk into Bryant–Denny.
