Where is Lake Erie located and which states border it?

Lake Erie is one of the five Great Lakes in North America and sits right along the border between the United States and Canada. On the U.S. side, it touches Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York, while Ontario borders it on the Canadian side. The lake connects to Lake Huron through the Detroit River and drains into the Niagara River, which leads to Niagara Falls. Because of its location, it plays a big role in shipping, trade, and travel across the region. Major cities like Cleveland, Buffalo, and Toledo sit along its shores, making it a busy and populated area. Around 11 million people rely on Lake Erie for drinking water and daily use. The mix of urban, industrial, and natural areas around it gives the lake a unique and important role in the Great Lakes system.
