What spacecraft will be used for Artemis II?

Posted on Mar 31, 2026 / Technology

Artemis II will use NASA’s Orion spacecraft along with the Space Launch System rocket. The SLS is one of the most powerful rockets ever built. Orion is designed to carry astronauts safely into deep space and back. It includes a crew module for astronauts and a service module for power and life support. The service module is built with help from the European Space Agency. Together, these systems allow humans to travel farther than low Earth orbit. This mission will be the first time both systems carry a crew together.
