What is the public transportation system like in Saint-Denis?

Saint-Denis has strong public transportation connections linking it directly with Paris and nearby suburbs. Metro Lines 12, 13, and 14 all serve different parts of the area. RER trains, trams, and many bus routes also help people travel around the suburb and into central Paris. During large concerts and football matches, public transportation becomes the main way most visitors travel to the area. Many travelers say using Metro Line 13 is the easiest way to reach the basilica from central Paris. Stade de France is also connected by nearby RER stations and tram services. Transportation can become crowded after major events, so some extra travel time is usually a good idea.
