The architecture of Trump Tower Chicago is known for its reflective glass exterior and stepped setback design. Architect Adrian Smith designed the building to visually connect with surrounding Chicago landmarks at different heights. Each setback aligns with nearby famous structures like Marina City, the Wrigley Building, and 330 North Wabash. The rounded edges and reflective glass help the tower blend into the riverfront skyline from many angles. Engineers also used a strong concrete core and outrigger system to help the skyscraper handle Chicago’s powerful winds. The building even uses water from the Chicago River as part of its cooling system design. Many architecture fans consider it one of the more technically interesting skyscrapers built in Chicago during the twenty-first century.
