Ottawa County is located in the southern coastal part of Michigan. The county seat of Ottawa County is Grand Haven. The total area of the county is about 1,632 square miles. Established in 1831 from part of Mackinac County and unorganized territory, today Ottawa County counts over 299 thousand inhabitants. The county is named after the Native American Ottawa people.
