What is Machu Picchu made of?

Machu Picchu is built almost entirely from granite blocks, carefully carved and fitted together without mortar. The Incas used advanced engineering techniques, including dry-stone construction, which allowed the structures to withstand earthquakes. The precision of the stonework is still admired today.
