What is the Western Wall Plaza?

The Western Wall Plaza is the open square in front of the Wall that accommodates large crowds and ceremonies. It serves as a national gathering point for public prayer, military induction ceremonies, bar mitzvah celebrations, and official state events. The plaza was expanded after the 1967 Six-Day War, when Israel gained control of East Jerusalem and reopened access to the site.
