The Red Fort, also known as Lal Qila, is a historic fort located in Delhi, India. It was built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the mid-17th century when he moved his capital from Agra to Delhi. The fort is constructed primarily from red sandstone, giving it its famous name. It served as the main residence of Mughal emperors for nearly 200 years. Today, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of India’s most iconic landmarks.
