When completed, the Crazy Horse Memorial will be the largest mountain carving in the world. The figure of Crazy Horse will measure 563 feet in length and 641 feet in height. By comparison, Mount Rushmore's heads are only about 60 feet tall each. The horse’s head alone will be 219 feet tall. The scale of the project is immense, requiring decades of careful construction. The memorial also includes plans for a cultural center, museum, and educational facilities to complement the sculpture.
