Malbork Castle served as the headquarters of the Teutonic Knights and the residence of their Grand Master. It functioned as a military fortress, administrative center, and religious complex. The castle housed knights, officials, and servants, providing living quarters, chapels, and storage facilities. It also protected the Teutonic Order’s territory and controlled important trade routes along the Vistula River. The fortress played a central role in the political and military power of the order during the Middle Ages. Today, it serves as a museum and educational site highlighting medieval history.
