The Old City of Sana’a is legendary for its gingerbread-style tower houses and intricate windowwork. Shibam in Hadramawt is nicknamed the “Manhattan of the Desert” thanks to its ancient mud-brick skyscrapers. Aden brings seafront history, volcanic scenery, and a busy port vibe when conditions allow. Socotra is a whole other world—dragon’s blood trees, surreal beaches, and rare plants you won’t spot anywhere else. Smaller towns like Zabid and Al-Mahwit add layers of heritage and hill views. Every spot is rich, but access depends on current conditions.
