Cool facts about Beacon Theatre

The Beacon opened on December 24, 1929, right as movie palaces were at their peak.
Its interior is a designated New York City landmark and the theater is on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Beacon still houses its original Wurlitzer organ (restored and an important piece of its history).
The Allman Brothers Band treated the Beacon like their second home, playing hundreds of shows there.
It’s been used for TV specials, concert films, and broadcasts — meaning some shows there end up on screens worldwide.
Even with modern upgrades, the theater keeps much of its vintage plasterwork, murals, and classic marquee look.
