Cool facts about Lake Superior

Lake Superior is so big it could fit all the other Great Lakes plus three more Lake Eries inside it.
The water is so clear that in some spots you can see down over 25 feet.
Storm waves on Superior have been recorded over 30 feet high.
The shoreline is more than 2,700 miles long — longer than the U.S. coast of the Atlantic Ocean.
Lake Superior is thought to be at least 10,000 years old, formed by retreating glaciers.
The Ojibwe name for the lake, "Gichigami," means "great sea," which fits it perfectly.
