Is Kyrgyzstan safe for tourists?

Yes, Kyrgyzstan is generally considered safe for visitors. Crime rates are pretty low, especially compared to many other countries. Petty theft can happen in crowded markets, so just keep an eye on your stuff. In the mountains and countryside, the biggest “danger” is usually unpredictable weather or tough terrain. People are very hospitable and often go out of their way to help travelers. As long as you use common sense, you’ll feel safe here.
