Papua New Guinea is a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts. Birds of paradise are the star attraction, performing vibrant dances in the forests. You’ll also find tree kangaroos, cassowaries, and countless reptiles and amphibians unique to the island. Coral reefs host thousands of fish species and spectacular underwater scenery. The rainforest is dense, mysterious, and full of endemic plants and insects. Volcanoes, rivers, and waterfalls make the landscapes dramatic and adventurous to explore. Nature tours with local guides are the safest way to see wildlife while supporting communities. It’s one of the few places left on Earth where biodiversity feels untouched and epic.
