The classic moment is sunrise, when the towers reflect in the pond and the sky turns orange — but that’s also when the crowds are insane. If you want quieter shots, go at dawn but hang back or head to the lesser-known corners first. Late afternoon light is softer and less crowded, giving the carvings a warm glow that looks great on camera. Dry season (November to March) has clear skies but gets hot fast; rainy season (May to October) means fewer tourists and greener landscapes. Locals often prefer the monsoon months — the temples feel more alive then. Bring water, a hat, and patience for photo bombers. Early or late, the atmosphere is magic either way.
