How deep is Crater Lake really?

Crater Lake is about 1,943 feet deep, making it the deepest lake in the United States. It formed when Mount Mazama blew its top around 7,700 years ago and collapsed into itself, leaving behind a giant bowl that slowly filled with rain and snow. No rivers flow in or out, which keeps the lake super clean and stable. Scientists are still amazed by how pure it stays over time. Looking into the water, it almost feels like staring into a blue void. It’s both beautiful and a little eerie, honestly.
