Is Crater Lake still an active volcano?

Technically, yes — Mount Mazama, the volcano that created Crater Lake, is considered dormant, not dead. There’s still geothermal activity under the lake, and scientists keep an eye on it with sensors and surveys. Don’t worry, though, there’s zero sign of any eruption coming soon. The last activity was thousands of years ago. It’s more of a peaceful giant these days. But that sense of sleeping power adds to the lake’s wild, ancient energy that people feel when they visit.
