The official language in Bulgaria is Bulgarian. It uses the Cyrillic alphabet, which might look unfamiliar at first but is fun to learn. Bulgarian is used in schools, government, and daily life across the country. English is becoming more popular, especially among younger people and in big cities. In rural areas, Russian or Turkish might also be spoken by some communities. Knowing a few basic Bulgarian words like “hello” or “thank you” can really impress locals. The language is a big part of Bulgaria’s national pride and identity.
